SOME ADVICE ON HOW TO GET BACK INTO SCREENWRITING AFTER SOME TIME AWAY

A friend of mine recently posted this on his facebook page --

I'm trying to wrap my brain around screenwriting again after some time off and it is challenging.

I responded with some advice -- a step by step process for getting back to writing screenplays after some time off. 
My friend thought what I wrote would be helpful. 
So I wanted to share it with others. 
The only caveat is that this particular process is specifically targeted at Director/Screenwriters, who tend to be more visual oriented.
